Reliance Is Setting Up Gigafactories In India!

Reliance will build a total of 4 gigafactory facilities here in the near future. Our India's Reliance Industries plans to set up a gigafactory each for batteries, fuel cells, photovoltaic cells, and hydrogen at an investment of Rs. 60,000 crores over the next 3 years. Actually, this  gigafactory method was planed by Elon Musk is to keep 100 Gigafactory all over the world. Chairman and MD of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, announced the above on Thursday while addressing the company’s 44th annual general meeting. And he added that a further Rs. 15,000 crores would be spent on future technologies, value chain and partnerships, taking the total investment in the planned new energy ecosystem to Rs. 75,000 crores. According to Mukesh Ambani, the each Reliance gigafactory will work to manufacture and integrate all critical components of new energy ecosystem. “We have started work on developing the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex on 5000 acres in Jamnagar,” the

How an Engineering student can start a career in the EV field company

In this blog, we are going to see a two-in-one concept, sounds different... yes! I picked up two questions that will be really interesting to know.

Firstly What kind of components are used in an electric car and here comes the main one "How an Engineering student can start a career in the EV field company"

This question will definitely be raised in every single engineering student who is really fond of the Automobile industry.

An engineering graduate or engineering student can learn the basic concepts which are required to build an electric vehicle and to do some study on that. This topic talks about how students can learn more about EVs and do more projects based on that.

"Building their own project"

Students must start to do projects based on EV in college days, this will help them in hands-on experience and there are staffs to guide them through it. Here making a project will require a lot of knowledge and understanding of vehicle design and this will tune their conceptual knowledge.

Main components of electric vehicle :

1.Motor

Where the electrical energy is generated as mechanical energy using a motor.

2. Reducer

Reduces the motor's RPM to generate the appropriate level of force.

3. Battery

Which stores the energy.

4. Electric Power Control Unit  ( EPCU )

The Electrical Power Control Unit (EPCU) is an efficient integration of nearly all devices that control the flow of the electric power in the vehicle, simply we can say it is the brain of the car, which consists of the inverter, the Low voltage DC-DC Converter (LDC) where LDC means DC-DC step-down converters basically take a higher input voltage and converts it to a lower output voltage, and the Vehicle Control Unit (VCU).

All these above components will also applicable for E-Bikes.

So, from my point of view engineering students from AUTOMOBILE, MECHANICAL, MECHATRONICS, CHEMICAL, EEE, and ECE department are having a great opportunity to learn because you may wonder why am I including all those engineering means, Manufacturing of Lithium on cells, Manufacturing/Assembly of Battery Packs, Recycling of Batteries will need a  Chemical engineer.

Developing algorithms for Battery Management System (BMS), Making lot Modules for sharing real-time data generated by EV, Using Al to improve the efficiency of BMS will need a EEE or some computer-based engineer.

Making of Thermal Systems, Vehicle, and Parts Design and Manufacturing, Working on motors, Quality Control, Testing of Battery Packs. Developing wiring harnesses for multifold functions in the EV Charging solutions, etc will need an Automobile or Mechanical engineer.

Developing firmware for Battery Management System, Developing an Infotainment system, Manufacturing and installing sensors in the vehicle, Power electronics will need an ECE engineer.

Making of Robotics for parts assembly, Powertrain component of the car, and some E-Circuits will need a Mechatronics engineer.

So, as I said learn more grow more, I think you have got an idea about it!

That's it for today's blog, Feel free to share your opinions on the comment session.
